Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Retail Procurement Specialist to manage the purchasing and procurement of Japanese vehicles for resale and rental. The role involves market analysis, supplier negotiations, and inventory planning to ensure optimal stock levels and competitive pricing.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
√ Select and purchase vehicles for resale and rental in line with market demand and company standards.
√ Monitor sales data, stock levels, and market trends to anticipate consumer preferences.
√ Negotiate purchase, promotion, and supply arrangements with suppliers.
√ Design and implement pricing, marketing, and promotional strategies for purchased vehicles.
√ Liaise with management on long-term planning and seasonal purchasing requirements.
√ Establish procurement plans according to budgetary and seasonal needs.
√ Inspect and evaluate vehicles for quality, style, and compliance with specifications.
√ Maintain accurate procurement records and generate periodic reports.
√ Demonstrated experience in sourcing and purchasing Japanese vehicles via auctions and direct suppliers.
√ In-depth understanding of auction grading systems, vehicle history, and condition reports.
√ Proven ability to negotiate prices and manage bidding strategies.
√ Experience managing multiple vehicles purchases per month.
Employment Requirements
√ Minimum 6 years of experience in procurement, buying, or retail purchasing roles.
√ Knowledge of Japanese vehicles and automotive market trends.
√ Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
√ Ability to analyze market trends and forecast demand.
√ Excellent communication and documentation skills.
√ Proficiency in basic computer operations and inventory management systems.
Qualification Requirements
√ Diploma or higher qualification in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience).
