Role Purpose
The Supply and Distribution Manager is responsible for planning, organising, directing, controlling, and coordinating the supply, storage, movement, and distribution of goods within warehouse and logistics operations. The role ensures effective inventory control, timely order fulfilment, efficient vendor coordination, compliance with relevant regulations, and continuous improvement of supply chain processes to support business growth and operational efficiency.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Supply Chain Planning & Distribution Management
√ Manage day-to-day supply and distribution operations for warehouse storage, third-party logistics and freight services in line with customer requirements.
√ Coordinate inbound goods movements, including container receivals, unloading, pallet handling and allocation of stock into warehouse storage locations.
√ Plan and oversee outbound distribution activities, ensuring timely pick, pack and dispatch of goods for local and interstate deliveries.
√ Monitor inventory levels across the warehouse, review stock movement and usage patterns, and ensure adequate stock availability to meet customer demand.
√ Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems and ensure stock discrepancies are investigated and resolved.
√ Liaise with transport providers, freight carriers and service partners to schedule deliveries and achieve agreed delivery timeframes.
√ Manage relationships with suppliers and logistics service providers, addressing operational issues and ensuring service standards are met.
√ Review logistics and warehousing costs and support cost-effective transport and storage solutions without impacting service quality.
√ Oversee order fulfilment processes for retail, e-commerce and commercial clients, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
√ Ensure warehouse and distribution activities comply with workplace health and safety standards, operational policies and client contractual obligations.
√ Maintain operational documentation including inventory reports, delivery records, service logs and audit information.
√ Identify operational bottlenecks or delays within warehousing and distribution processes and implement improvements to increase efficiency.
√ Prepare regular reports on inventory status, distribution performance and operational outcomes for business planning and management review.
√ Coordinate and guide warehouse and logistics staff to ensure work is completed accurately, safely and within required timelines.
√ Support expansion of Employer Logistics’ 3PL and warehousing services by scaling inventory control and distribution processes as business demand grows.
Employment Requirements
Skills & Experience
√ Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain management, warehousing, distribution, or logistics operations.
√ Demonstrated experience managing inventory control, distribution planning, freight coordination, and supplier relationships.
√ Proven ability to optimise supply processes, improve efficiency, and manage compliance requirements.
√ Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
√ Experience working in 3PL, warehousing, freight, or distribution environments preferred.
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in:

⇒ Logistics Management
⇒ Business, Commerce, or a closely related field

⇒ Strong knowledge of inventory systems and warehouse operations
⇒ Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and high-volume logistics workflows
⇒ Familiarity with Australian supply chain and transport compliance standards
